Orlando Crazy and Excellent

Although the madness of an Orlando vacation might seem scary at times with the number of theme parks to visit, this city has more for the visitor if they want something a little different. Orlando also has markets, shows, art galleries, exhibitions, beautiful lakes and parks, all easily available for the visitor who wants something a little different. The city has been attracting tourists for a long time and justifiably so as it has just about everything the visitor could want.

It is a great place to visit even if you only have shopping on your mind as Orlando area is full of beautiful shopping malls, restaurants and shops of every type. It is easy to stay occupied on an Orlando vacation at anytime of the year so only a few of the lesser know visitor attractions are mentioned here.

Although Zoos have taken a bit of criticism in recent years, their value to education and the preservation of species cannot be dismissed and the Central Florida Zoo in Sanford is one of these. It is actually a privately owned charitable group dedicated to the protection of exotic animals plus species that are native to Florida but also offers informative and child-friendly classes and events.

Then there are the works of Louis Tiffany whose famous collection is housed here in the Morse Museum of American Art. Tiffany glass, clayware and ornaments are all on display here including a specially designed chapel interior shown at the Columbian Exposition back in 1893.

Orlando is certainly a city for all age groups and not solely designed for the amusement of children as family and adult attractions are in equal numbers. Vibrant Night life is also popular on vacations to Orlando with music and dance available at some of the favorite venues which include Downtown Disney’s Pleasure Island, Universal City walk, and other clubs.

Take the Orlando Science Center which can offer over 200,000 square feet of exhibitions and displays in ten huge halls, its focus is to provide a basis for experimenting, and learning science and technology. The International Trolley and Train Museum has fourteen trains running simultaneously in mountains, wilderness and urban areas, including three waterfalls that use 12,000 gallons of water per hour.

For something a little different there’s the Titanic Exhibition which tells the story of the ill fated Ocean Liner performed by a character from the ship, the displays contain some original salvaged items and at times the tour is very moving. Lake Eola Park on the other hand has a pleasant 43 acres to stroll around and relax or perhaps a little boating on the lake.

Not all theme parks in Orlando are based purely on rides as the fantastic Seaworld will attest but if you want rides then you have the Disney resort theme parks and Universal studios too. To make the most of your Orlando vacation try to visit outside of traditional holiday periods if you want to avoid the crowds.
